AWIS GCH Science Talks – 2020 Hurricane and Flooding Preparedness

Concerned about an active Atlantic hurricane season? As we approach the season peak, join us in our Science Talks “2020 Hurricane and Flooding Preparedness” by Katie Landry-Guyton on Tue, Aug 25, 2020 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM CDT.

Katie currently serves as the Senior Service Hydrologist for the Houston/Galveston National Weather Service office. She is responsible for hydrologic forecasts and warnings in the Houston/Galveston area and serves as the liaison between the National Weather Service and other hydrologic partners across Southeast Texas. Prior to joining the Houston office in January 2017, Katie worked as a Hydrometeorologist for the Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center in Slidell, LA.

Katie earned her B.S. in Geosciences with an emphasis in meteorology from Mississippi State University. She actively serves both the meteorological and hydrologic communities through the American Meteorological Society, the Texas Flash Flood Coalition, and the Texas Floodplain Managers Association.
