It’s that time of the year again–the next election cycle is right around the corner!
We are calling for 2 to 3 volunteers among our members, who are not running for a position on the board, to be part of this year’s election committee. Please send us an email at awisgch@awisgch.org with any questions or to sign up!
Per AWIS GCH Bylaws: Elections shall be held once per calendar year. A Chapter Election Commission shall be appointed by the Executive Board to plan, conduct, and conclude the election process for the Chapter. A minimum of 2 designates must serve as the Election Commission. No member who is running for office may participate in the Election Commission. The President, whether running for re-election or not, may not participate in the Election Commission.
As members of the Election Commission, you will be in charge of planning and organizing the elections as well as setting up the nomination and voting processes as follows:
April 24th – May 20th: Call for nominations to board positions
May 22nd: Send candidate list to members and open voting period
May 22nd – June 12th: Voting period (minimum 2 weeks)
June 15th: Elected officers announced
Between June 15th and July 1st: The former and the new boards meet for transfer of responsibilities
July 1st: The new board takes over
