Rice University Reach for the Stars STEM Festival

Rice University is hosting the annual Reach for the Star festival (formerly Sally Ride) on October 12th, to inspire middle school girls to pursue careers in STEM.

AWIS GCH is looking for 4-6 female volunteers for our demonstration table at the event. We will be demonstrating optical illusions. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please sign up here –

You do not have to stay the entire event and an AWIS representative will be present at the table for the entire event. Though not needed, if you have some background in neuroscience/optical illusions it will be useful. We will give you any necessary training the week before the event. It is a good opportunity to showcase your science communication skills, and a good addition to your resume if you are looking at careers in science communication.
