The networking class was really helpful. I think Agathe is an amazing instructor and has a knack for getting people out of their shell. Her no excuses approach to the class was painful at first but I believe necessary. Networking is so unnatural and uncomfortable to most scientists, but she gave me some great tools to make me feel more empowered. I now enjoy going to networking events when before it seemed like such a chore.

I think the boot camp is very useful. The in class practicing is critical for me to learn proper verbal and body language, and to apply the concepts in the networkings. The illustration of the mindsets in science and also career has broadened my view. The lesson I learned is that people like me who are looking for help need practice, practice, practice, even we will sometimes make mistakes and re-visit the goal in consideration of the realities.

The boot camp was a great way to force me to make time for building connections outside of the lab. It also was helped me to think about career planning and start to be more proactive in shaping my future. I felt the topics were relevant and classroom practice helped to make networking events seem less stressful. Agathe did a great job. I appreciated her volunteering her time for the course and her passion for the subject.
