AWIS-GCH at the 5th Annual Energy Day Festival

The Association for Women in Science-GCH is proud to be a part of the 5th Annual Energy Day Festival on Saturday, October 17th from 11am-4pm at Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston, Texas. It is going to be a fun day. We are hosting a science table with fun experiments and interactive hands-on science. Please stop by our table, say Hello and show your love and support for AWIS.

The festival has more than 70 interactive exhibits and demonstrations geared toward K-12 students and their families showcasing science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), energy, conservation, efficiency and careers in the energy industry. Energy Day has music, food, and games.

What is Energy Day?

An official City of Houston event, Energy Day is a free, family-friendly, annual festival celebrating and highlighting the importance of energy in our daily lives. The festival hosts more than 70 interactive demonstrations and exhibits teaching students and their families about energy, science, technology, efficiency, conservation, and careers in the energy industry.

What is Energy Day’s mission?

Geared toward K-12 students, Energy Day’s mission is to educate students and their families about the various forms of energy, conservation, and careers in energy by showcasing energy innovation, technology, efficiency & conservation, opportunities in the industry, and the overall role of all sources of energy in our daily lives. We hope the exciting exhibits and interactions with energy experts will spark students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
