The inaugural Outstanding Women in Science (OWIS) seminar on April 3, 2013 was a huge success, with over 40 attendees! We thank our distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Elizabeth Travis, the Associate Vice President of Women Faculty Programs and the Mattie Allen Fair Professor in Cancer Research at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, for her outstanding achievements as a scientist and a role model for other women in STEM fields.
